Whale Walk
Though
funding for the building portion of the expansion has already been secured,
the opportunity to support some of the key exhibits still exists. The
City invites individuals, community organizations, and local businesses
to consider sponsoring the Interpretive Center exhibits. Donors may also
wish to make a contribution in honor of a loved one or a specific organization.
For a limited time, individuals, community organizations, and local
businesses can support the outstanding Interpretive Center exhibits while
receiving unique recognition for their contribution. Reserve your
space on the new Point Vicente Interpretive Center's "Whale Walk” today!
The Walk, which is located at the entry of the new Interpretive
Center, traces the monumental migration of the Pacific gray whale from
the frigid Arctic waters past the Southern California coastline, to the
warm lagoons of Baja and back. Initial response to the introductory whale
subscription, offering donor recognition and dedication, was tremendous. Now
only thirty-six more whale spaces are available! This second "wave" of
bronze whale plaques is available for $2,500. The whale plaques
measure approximately 13" x 5" and can accommodate
one, two or three lines of text (options are on the form). Proceeds will
benefit museum exhibits. Please click HERE [PDF
format] for the application
form that more fully describes the whale plaques and engraving options.
