Gray Whale Sculpture
Gray Whale Sculpture by Cinthia Joyce at the PVIC entrance. The sculpture was donated by John and Marilyn Long of the Long Family Foundation and the base was provided by MTM Construction. There are four whale tails around the base of the sculpture. The whale tail pointing towards the PVIC front door is that of a Pacific Gray Whale; moving left, the next tails represent a Cuvier's Beaked Whale, a Humpback Whale and a Sperm Whale. These whale tails are about the same size in life and their flukes are about 10' across.
