Two Spot Octopus
Two-Spot Octopus (Octopus bimaculoides) ~ The two-spot octopus is a cephalopod and a shy creature living in holes and crevices. It is so named because of the two bluish-black eyespots (one of which is quite visible on this photograph) just below its real eyes.  It is considered a medium-size octopus reaching a mantle size of 7 inches and arms up to 23 inches.  Its life span is only one to two years and the female generally lays her eggs at the end of her life span. The two-spot octopus eats a variety of mollusks and fish.
